Committees/Teams
Christian Education Committee is responsible for church school for adults and children and for the nurture of the congregation. Adult Sunday School provides Bible study and short classes on various topics and meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM. The committee meets on the 3rd Monday at 7 PM. A children's church school for all ages is held on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, sometimes using various topical books like Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the Mind.
Mission Committee - sponsors events supporting local and national missions of the Presbyterian Church (
Worship Committee meets the 2nd Thursday at 7 PM to oversee organization of worship services. It organizes ushers and liturgists, food committees, communion, sanctuary supplies and flowers.
---Flower Committee. Members are asked to provide flowers for the sanctuary in memory or honor of loved ones. Please call the Flower Committee to select a date. Those providing flowers are responsible for payment and making arrangements with a florist for delivery for the service for which they have signed up. Flowers may be taken after the service. There are plastic bags in the choir room in which to put the flowers. If flowers are not taken, the Deacons will deliver them to ailing members, shut-ins or nursing homes.
---Food Teams. 6 Food Teams, under the direction of a chairperson, organize and prepare food for coffee hour, special services and events, including funeral dinners, and provide clean up after the event.
---Liturgists. The Worship Committee asks members of the congregation to serve as liturgists. Liturgists read scripture and help the Pastor with the worship service.
---Ushers. The Worship Committee asks members to serve as ushers for Sunday morning worship services and church functions for one month and as needed. The year’s schedule is organized in March for April through the following March. Ushers who are unable to serve on a scheduled Sunday are asked to find substitutes.
Fellowship & Nurture Committee sponsors various events during the year and meets with CE on the 3rd Monday at 7 PM.
Communications Committee is responsible for The Star, the monthly newsletter, weekly bulletins, advertising events and the website.
Other organizational committees include Personnel & Finance, Building & Grounds, Stewardship, Audit, and Nominating.
Choir. We are blessed with a wonderful organist, choir director and choir who provide us with beautiful music. Music is an important part of our worship service. More choir members are always welcomed.
